Good, but does not save data when phone shuts down

I very much like the app. It helps to pace myself and helps to slowly increases the distance to run. The only annoyance is that it loses the data of a session should the iPhone run out of energy. This might be acceptable during the run, but not when I am in the cool down phase at the end of a session.

Just what I needed

This app is organized and simplistic. Easy to use even if youve never used a fitness app before. It tells you 3 runs a week and youll be able to run a 10k in 10 weeks, even if youre brand new to running. Im fairly new, and I like that it gives you an option to start at a 5k if youre at that point already. It gives you exactly what you need and is easy to navigate. I love that it has you do intervals of running, jogging, and walking for those of us not ready to run 30 mins at once. And it isnt too daunting either. Three times a week is a great start, and it makes running a 10k in 10 weeks seem achievable. I dont want to be overwhelmed by a fitness program, and this doesnt do that. You dont even have to complete it in 10 weeks. You can stop and then continue when you left off. And it logs EVERYTHING. So even if you have to cut a run short, you can go back and do it again without losing data from your last attempt. Thanks for helping me get back on track. :)

Want to give it a 5, but...

I want to give this app a 5 but as others have stated, the sound levels of the trainers voice is bad. If you have other music playing you cannot hear the coach even with all sounds on max. At one point I had it fixed (no background music and all in-app and device controls on max), then it started to only have every other instruction loud enough to hear, making me miss half the cues to either walk or run. I havent yet been able to sync with Map My Run. When I emailed the developers all they could say is "keep trying." While I appreciate the quick response (less than a day), the advice has yet to solve that problem. As others have said, it would be great if you knew the overall workout plan before starting to prepare mentally for it, but also to set a watch in case the sound goes out.

Does the trick

Update: Im on week 9 and have gone from running 0 miles a week to between 17-20 miles a week. I have run multiple 10k distances through these workouts, so it has definitely helped me achieve my goal. If the app description still claims the workouts are an average of 35 min each, thats a lie...they get to be slightly over an hour. At the end of week one, I like the pace of the workouts, the ability to play music through the app & the way the music fades so you can hear the instructions. I thought it was a bit strange that when my phones ringer is set to silent (via the button on the side of the phone) the music still plays, but the voice instructions do not. I wish the ringer and app volumes were separate. I also initially had trouble with the workout skipping around until I found the lock screen feature. I would definitely appreciate the ability to preview the workouts before beginning just to know whats ahead of me...because the description lies when it says most workouts are about half an hour long. Overall, Im liking the app and will continue using it.

Great trainer

Really like that it stores the info about each run so you can see your progress. Love that it plays your stored music. Wish you could see the intervals before you begin the workout. Although the voice of the guy that tells you to jog/walk is adjustable, I wish it would go a little louder.

Good program

I am definitely not a runner, and this program kicks my butt. But that being said it is doable. Its helping to improve my stamina and also gives me a starting ground where as before I had no idea where to start. One thing that would be cool would be if you could input the speeds that youre actually using so you can see improvements there also. Thanks for the great program for beginners!

Waste of money

My worst waste of money.

Pushed me through the first week

Useful and fun tool to help prepare, provided enough time tracking and GPS tracking to look forward to your next training. Bonus that I can listen to pandora while running the app.

Good but unstable!

Run a 10k is a great app, but it keeps crashing on my iPhone 5s with iOS 7.0.1!

Great App

I enjoy using this app. The workouts are good.

Cool app.

I have lost 20 pounds using the app, eating well and preparing for my first 10k :0)

Excellent coaching program

Thanks for keeping me in shape

1st day think Im going to love it !

I did my 1st. 5k 2 weeks ago did finish and ran straight through. I decided that I would start training for a 10 k. Even though I can run distance I want to increase my speed and I think starting at the beginning if this program will help. The voice is too low and you can miss your cue, but there is a way to view the run before starting just hit the I (info) on the screen and it will say walk 2:00, run 3, walk 2:00 etc. so you do know what yo expect with each workout. I like having a record and it Also gives you an indoor outdoor option.

Good but too many advertisement

It is an ok app but every topic routes you to a new app offering

Great training app

Ive run a few halfs and decided to just train for a tri with 6 mile run. Great pacing app. I did a light jog during "walks" and faster paced jog during actual jogs. It helped not burn me out! The biggest complaint I have is that the screen should auto lock instead of having to lock so I can move to other apps during my run. I found myself loosing my place and having to start over and fast forward the work out. Also, I couldnt seem to figure out how to keep the voice prompts when I closed the screen. Otherwise great buy!

An upgrade thats worth it.

Great audio cues including motivation and letting you know youre half done. Do NOT fall for the often-advertised all-in-one app as it does not link to this.

User friendly, motivational!

I have used all of their training apps, but this helped build a good base for me as a novice, to move on to longer marathon training. I also love running for weight loss when I need a good challenging sweat. It helped get my speed and anaerobic performance up.

Love It

This is my favorite running app. Love that it has indoor and outdoor options!

Good running app

I like this one much better than coach to 5k or 10k its more user friendly and the other one does not show your route.

Not FB Friendly

Loves the app for my first day of training. However when I try to log my results and publish on Facebook I continue to get the message that I am not logged into Facebook and the instructions to go to settings and turn on. I have done this, all clear and I still get the same message.
